Rose Hodgson Memorial Award
Wilf Clothier

The late Wilf Clothier was named winner of the Rose Hodgson award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the community.

Clothier started volunteering in the 1960s, coaching youth fastball. In 1994 he coached a midget team that won the Under 19 International World Fastball Championship, an Ontario championship and a silver in the Canadian championship.

He was also heavily involved with the Michtario Games, organizing many events and taking part in fundraising.

Clothier also played a key role in securing the Ontario Senior Men's Fastball championships for Sarnia in 1987.

On top of all that, he was a long-time member of the Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame board of directors, having served in a number of posts, including that of president.

Wilf had passed away earlier in the year, but not before receiving his award from the board of directors, who voted for him unanimously.
