Rose Hodgson
A Women to Remember

Rose’s volunteerism was expansive and far-reaching. She her worked
endless hours for our community & country.
Rose was the 1st woman president of the Sarnia Figure Skating Club.
She was a founding member of the Michitario Games. Rose served on
the board of Softball Ontario for many years eventually serving as
Chair person. She also served for many years on the P.W.S.A.
including 2 years as president. Rose served a number of years with
Softball Canada and was 1 of 6 members of the Board of Directors. As
a board member Rose was appointed to the Olympic committee and
traveled to the Olympics in Greece.
Rose was inducted into the Softball Canada Hall of Fame in 2005 and
remained active on the board. She was a founding member of the
Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame and served 3 terms as president.
She was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.
Rose was on the Canada Day Committee, was involved with the Highland
Games, was the Terry Fox representative for Sarnia and on the Board
of the Bluewater Health Foundation. Rose was the recipient of many
awards and honours given to recognize her years of giving to the
community.
Rose also worked many years as a Constituency Assistant running the
offices of two MPP’s. She was the President of the Sarnia-Lambton
P.C. Association.
Rose was married for 49 years to her best friend of Burt. Mother of
Kerry of Bradford, Jeff & his wife Colleen of Sarnia and Corinne &
her husband Dale Patterson of Sarnia. Special Nana of Bradley, Joel,
Samantha and Joshua. Dear sister of Roberta & her husband George Bice of Bright’s Grove.
