Rose Hodgson Memorial Award


John Girard

John Girard has won this award, which is for outstanding contributions to the community. Girard was an educator for the local Catholic School Board from 1981 to 2011. Along the way he mentored thousands of young people in and out of the classroom as a coach and convener of football and wrestling. He is best known for his work with wrestlers, coaching a number of athletes to national and provincial championships. He is one of the original coaches of the Sarnia Amateur Wrestling club founded by Bill McNamara.
