John Lynch
John Lynch is being inducted in the professional athlete category after an impressive football career.
Lynch was a great athlete from the start, participating in football, track and field and basketball at St. Pat's High School. In fact, before graduation he was both the school's junior and senior athlete of the year. He was best known as a football quarterback who led his team to a championship. During one playoff game he scored an astonishing five touchdowns.
After successful careers with the Sarnia Golden Bears and University of Western Ontario Mustangs, Lynch moved on to the Canadian Football League. During two seasons with the Ottawa Rough Riders he had three interceptions and three fumble recoveries. He was also an integral part of the Riders secondary that ended the CFL consecutive catch streak of Terry Greer of the Toronto Argos. Greer later went on to star in the NFL. |
