Fastball

Bonnie Young was born in London, Ontario but moved in 1963 to Sarnia.  This move was a loss to London but a gain for the Sarnia sports scene.  Not only has Bonnie personally had an influence on Sarnia's sport scene but her family as also been involved as well. 

1968 - 1972 Scouts Canada Cub Leader and Special Events Coordinator.
1972 - 1975 Cub Leader with Special Needs Children
1972 - 1974 SMAA Girl's Fastball Coach Squirt House League

1974 - 1980 Girl's Fastball Coach for Squirt, Novice, Bantam, Midget Travel Teams.
1983 - 1986 Boys Fastball Chairperson and Convener
1983 - 1984 SMAA Second Vice President
1985 - 1987 SMAA First Vice President
1988 - 1989 SMAA President
1991 - 1992 SMAA Second Vice President
1993 - 1994 SMAA First Vice-President
1995 - 1996 SMAA President
1987 Member of Organizing Committee Sr. Men's Provincial Fastball Tournament
1988 - 2001 Treasurer Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame
1989 - Won the James W. Chaytor Award for SMAA Volunteer of the Year.
1990 - Member of Organizing Committee Sr. Men's National Fastball Tournament
1992 - Awarded Scouts Canada Honorary Chief Award
1993 - Michitario Friendship Games Volunteer
1994 - Member of Organizing Committee Boy's Midget Provincial Fastball Tournament.
1997 - 2005 Sarnia Sting Booster Club Volunteer
1998 - SMAA Girl's Fastball Director
"Volunteer" might be Bonnie's middle name and if so it is an appropriate moniker for a person that has given so much to the Sarnia Lambton sports scene.
