Slovakia vs Finland
In Watford Ontario in Exhibition action Slovakia was downed by Finland by a score of 6 - 3. Finland took a 3 - 1 lead in the first that started at ten seconds into the game and never looked back.  They added one more in the second and two in the third.  Slovakia scored 1 goal in each period.


Otto Makinen scored two goals and added two assists to lead Finland.  Emil Okasen, Janne Kuokkanen, Aapeli Rasanen and Urho Vaakanainen each aded singles.

 

Scoring for Slovakia were Nilos Roman, Matej Galvavy and Kroni Musliu.


Slovakia went one for four on the power play, Finland went two for six.

Finland first game in the tournament is on Sunday November 2 at 3:00 pm at the RBC Centre when they will face off against Canada White. Slovakia will meet Canada Red on Sunday evening at 7:00 pm in Lambton Shores.

 

Canada Black vs Sweden

Canada's only win in the exhibition series was won in Petrolia by Canada Black, however it wasn't an easy win as the game was won in overtime with a final score of 4 - 3 against Sweden.

 

Sweden opened the scoring a minute and thirteen seconds into the first period by Oliver Olsson.  Canada went on and added two goals the first at 9:06 by Lucas Thierus and at 15:58 by Tyler Benson.

 

In the second period both sides shared goals with Lucas Thierus scoring his second of the game for Canada at 4:59.  Linus Weissbach scored Sweden's second goal with just :06 seconds remaining to narrow Canada's 3 - 2 lead.

 

Sweden battled back and tied the game in the third at 9:01 with Oliver Olsson scoring his second of the game.  Action continuted and the two teams remained even at 3 - 3 sending the game into overtime where Reagan O'Grady scored for Canada to take the win.


Both sides went scoreless on the power play.  Canada had five opportunities, Sweden had two.

 

Sweden will face the USA on Sunday at 3:00 pm in Lambton Shores and Canada Black will face off against Russia at 7:00 pm at the RBC Centre.
