Sarnia vs Chatham

The Sarnia Spirit U-15 competed in the last game of regulation play in their season against the top team Chatham U-16 Strikers. In previous games the younger Spirit team lost 5 - 2 and 4 - 1, in this game the Spirit played a tough game and tied the Strikers 1-1.
 

Chatham scored early in the game, but with hard work and determination the team pulled together and Valerie Spano was able to score to tie the game.

Deanna Ritchie was an unstoppable force in net, saving numerous shots keeping the Spirit in the game.

Valerie Spano earned player of the game.
 


 

The Spirit placed 2nd in their division with a total of 6 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie for a total of 13 points.  In the next round the Spirit will take on the 3rd place Petrolia Oilers on Tuesday August 18 at Veterans Field.
