Eric Steinman |

Chris Clark |
In net for LCCVI was Eric
Steinman and for Northern was Chris Clark.
Both goaltenders played outstanding! After the first
period of play both sides went scoreless with end to end
action.
In the second period with
a shot from the side Travis Whitely found the opening with
3:14 left
in the period to put the Lancers up by one.
Assisting on the goal was Greg Charlton.
The period would end with the Lancers leading by the single
point.
Midway into the third period at 10:28 net minder Eric
Steinman ventured out of his crease to beat Dac Hiller to a
breakaway but the puck hit Hiller's stick and slid across
into the open net to tie things up for the Vikings.
Steve Farlow made the pass up the ice and was credited with
the assist on that goal.
Action continue as before with
both sides going end to end and with several power play
opportunities but the exceptional goaltending kept the
score tied at 1 - 1 until 1:45 left on the clock there was a
scramble in front of the net and the Lancers poked it in to
take the lead. Scoring for the Lancers was Craig Steadman
from Jed Goodacre.
As the time tick off the clock
the Vikings pulled their goalie with play deep in the
Lancers end, but
the Lancers were able to hold off the 6 man attack to take
the win for the 2nd year in a row and
to give them win #6 in the last 7 years.
Congratulations to both sides
for a well played entertaining game! |
