The annual LSSAA "Shamrock
Boys Hockey Tournament", will take place on
November 11 and 12 hosted by St. Patrick's High
SchoolAll seven
Lambton County schools will be represented,
including last years champions SCITS (in 1A/2A)
and Northern (in 3A/4A).
Other past winners
include: St.Thomas of Villanova (LaSalle) in
2007, St.Patrick's in 2006 and St.Christopher in
2005.
The 10 teams in total will
be divided into Green & a Gold divisions.
Each team plays 3 round
robin games, where they accumulate points for
wins, ties, shutouts and period wins. At the
conclusion of the round robin, teams are seeded
based on points accumulated, then each team
plays one playoff game.
All the games are at
Clearwater arena, and there is no admission
charge.
The goals of the
tournament are;
To provide an opportunity
for coaches to observe & evaluate their talent
prior to the start of their regular season.
To allow players an
opportunity to work on skill development,
tactical play & physical conditioning under game
conditions.
And to team build and to
have fun!
