Rapids set Records at
the Nothers meet in London
The Sarnia
Rapids Swim Club Rapids 2 group raced with 28
swimmers in London the last weekend in November.
The Rapids set 46 new club records and our swimmers
achieved over 75% personal best times! Way to go
Rapids!
The
following 9 swimmers had 100% personal best times
this meet. Congratulations to Michael Abrametz,
Danielle Adams, Samuel Boily-Dufour, Christopher
Dejonghe, Debbie Draganits, Emily Houle, Isaiah
Magtanong, Staisya Murphy and Liam Petrusev. Debbie
Dragaints made a great come back, racing at her
first meet in about 5 years and did very well!
We also
brought home a stack of medals and ribbons! Here
are our rapids who placed in the top 3. Michael
Abrametz (15) came home with 3 gold, 2 silver and a
bronze and also qualified for Age Group Nationals in
his breast stroke events! Samuel Boily-Dufour (11)
brought home 6 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze
qualifying 2 new events for provincials, 100 free
and 100 fly bringing his total events qualified for
Provincials up to 7! Jessica Cartier (17) raced
against many Western University swimmers and brought
home 3 silver and 2 bronze medals beating many of
her previous personal best times. Her sister Tara
Cartier (13) came home with 2 silver and 2 bronze
medals and raced a great 800 free and 400 IM.
Ashley Klingbeil (10) won gold in the 200 back and
silver in the 800 free. Mariam Labib (10) won gold
in the 50 back and bronze in the 100 back. Liam
Petrusev (14) won gold in the 50 breast and had a
great 400 IM and Allan Sundby (18) brought home 8
gold medals and a bronze. Allan also raced against
many Western University swimmers and went many
personal best times!
The Rapids
also had some great relay results! The 10 and Under
girls Freestyle Relay placed 4th with
Ashley Klingbeil, Mariam Labib, Maude Boily-Dufour
and Emma Darrach. The same team also placed 4th
in the Medley Relay. The 11-12 year old girls relay
placed 7th in the Free Relay and 9th
in the Medley Relay. The 15 and over girls placed 6th
in both the Medley and Free Relays and the 15 and
over boys relay placed 5th in the Medley
Relay and 6th in the Free Relay.
