12 and Under Celebration in London
Congratulations goes out to the Sarnia Rapids 2

12 and Under Celebration meet in London. The team
had 17 Rapids race against teams from across
South-Western Ontario and we brought home a lot of
top 8 finishes! This meet included a younger age
group, for 8 and under swimmers instead of the
regular 10 and under category. The team had some
amazing results!
Some
highlights from the weekend include Bella Barker
winning 2nd in the 50 free, Heather
Baxter winning 3rd in the 200 free and
the 200 breast and Christopher Dejonghe with four 4th

brining home 2nd in the 100 fly, and 3rd
in the 100 back and the 200 free. Paige Klingbeil
won the 200 back in the 8 and under age group, and
also came 2nd in the 100 back and 400
free, and 3rd in the 50 fly. Mariam
Labib won gold in both the 50 fly and the 100 fly,
silver in the 100 back and bronze in the 50 free.
The Rapids
also had a few swimmers in the top 5 in all of their
events! Congratulations to Maude Boily-Dufour for
winning gold in the 9 year old girls age group in 50
fly, 100 fly and 400 free,
silver in the 50 free, 200 free, and 200 IM, bronze
in 100 back and 4th in the 100 free.
Samuel Boily-Dufour also had a great meet racing
against the 11 year old boys and winning gold in 200
IM and 100 back, silver in 50 free, 200 free and 400
IM, bronze in 100 free and 200 breast, and 5th

under girls age category and brought home gold in
50, 100 and 200 breast stroke events as well as 100
free, 400 free and 100 fly. She also won bronze in
200 free and 200 IM.
It was a
great meet for all of the Rapids swimmers! Notable
mention to Heather Baxter for a great 400 free,
Samuel Boily-Dufour for a great 400 IM and Maddisson
Hawryluk (6) and Olivia Piazza (12) for an excellent
meet and 100% personal best times! Way to go Rapids
keep up the good work!
The rapid
