Junior Nationals

Seven members
of the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track and
Field Club competed in the Canadian Junior
National Track and Field Championships held
July 25-27 in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Maggie Mullen
was a double Bronze medalist in Javelin and
Shot put with throws of 44.08m and 13.67m
respectively. She also placed 6th in the
discus. Emily King made it into the top 10
in the javelin with a throw of 37.71m which
placed her 8th. Derek Drouin came home with
a Silver medal, thanks to a jump of 2.10m in
the High Jump and he also placed 7th in the
110m hurdles. Casey Garbaty won Bronze in
the men's Javelin with a throw of 60.53m.
Shaun Bisson
placed 14th in the 3000m Steeplechase with a
time of 10:05. Haley Cadwallader placed 7th
in the women's 2000m Steeplechase running
the event in 7:21. Matt Reddy was 19th in
prelims in the mens 400m in a time of 50:55.
