Best & Canie Lead Point Atom’s To a 8 - 0 Win Over Parkhill

The Point Edward Atom Blackhawk’s played Parkhill in Lambton-Middlesex league action with Kaeden Canie and Noah Best powering the team with five goals to lead them to an 8-0 win.

The Hawks got going early in the game when Canie and Best teamed up for the first of five in the game to give the Point an early 1-0 lead. Parkhill did not get frustrated as both teams got some good scoring chances. Mid-way through the first, Mackenzie Caley gave an excellent cross-ice pass to an open Garrett Kennedy who made it 2-0. Parkhill continued to challenge the Hawks and tried to keep the Point away from their net. With seconds left in the period, Best set up Canie who put it in the top right corner to end the period 3-0.

Both teams continued to get some good scoring chances and Reinders made some awesome saves to keep the Parkhill team off the board. Midway through the period Canie return the favour and set up Noah Best to make it 4-0 as they caught the Parkhill defense out of position. Both teams seemed to be digging for the puck throughout the period but the Parkhill team couldn’t get one past Reinders. Before the period ended, Young passed to an open Bradley Hunking and the Parkhill goalie made a great save but Kennedy was in the right spot to slam in the rebound to allow the Point to go into the third with a 5-0 lead.

The third period mirrored the first two periods as Parkhill had chances but just couldn’t capitalize as Reinders and the defense played very well. Caley cleared the puck to an open Edlington who had a break away from center to make it 6-0 early in the period. Before the period ended Best and Canie set each other up one more time to make it 8-0 to end the game.

The Point Atom’s next challenge will be when they play in the John Henry Memorial Tournament in Strathroy from Dec 27-29th during the Christmas Holiday’s.

Merry Christmas To The Many Fans From The Point Edward Atom Hockey Team!
