Olympic Mom, Cathi Parker
reporting from the London Olympics
July 29, 2012
Cathi
Parker sends her thoughts from
London
"I had a
wonderful evening at the Opening
Ceremonies celebration from the
Canada Olympic House last night.
Free food, drinks and amazing
hospitality. The Governor General
was at the house giving a speech for
the official opening of the Canada
House, along with Canada's famous
Tenors singing to the crowd and
making the Olympic moment a reality.
I cried like a baby haha. So
emotional. I think it all hit me at
that moment ... we are at the
Olympics, we did it!
"After the ceremonies we walked to
Trafalgar Square for another
celebration showing the countdown
clock at 00:00:00. Hundreds of
people taking pictures, news
reporters, TV stations were all
creating their moments. We were
pictured by several different
photographers around the world and
interviewed live by a Latino
Television station. It was all such
a buzz. Then we walked up the street
to McDonalds for a snack, and even
McDonalds was a party, London Town
definitely was flowing with Olympic
fever!!
Now tomorrow is more serious...
competition time + game on!
