The Alvinston Flyers are winners of three straight
after winning at home against Essex 5-2 Friday
night.
The Flyers
jumped out to the early 2-0 lead in the first period
coming off two powerplay goals, as Dan Warner scored
his second of the season, while Joe Archer would get
his first of the net.
Essex
would cut the lead in half in the second with Dylan
Solecki scoring on the powerplay for the 73's. Essex
would tie it up in the opening minutes of the third
period, as Brett Beattie would score 1:28 into the
third to make it a 2-2 game.
But
Alvinston would go back to their powerplay three
more times, scoring three unanswered powerplay
goals. Connor Thompson added a powerplay goal 20
seconds after Essex scored to restore the lead.
Joe Archer
would get his second of the game on the powerplay,
and 28 seconds after that, Tanner Thompson would add
the final powerplay goal, as the Flyers go 5 for 10
on the powerplay in the 5-2 victory.
Essex
outshot the Flyers 35-25, but Alvinston goalie James
Morreau stopped 33 shots to earn his second win of
the season.
Alvinston
is now 3-1-0 on the season and will travel to
Blenheim on Sunday.
