Sarnia, ON
– It was week 4 in SMAA Bantam football, as the
Tiger Sharks looked to remain undefeated while the
Bears looked for their first win of the
season. The Bears held it close at the half, but the
Tiger Sharks offence would find the endzone three
times for a 30-6 victory.
On the
first possession of the game for the Tiger Sharks
they would quickly move it down field, utilizing the
long pass and run. Knocking on the red zone, the
Bears defence forced a 4th down stop inside their
own 15 yard line to end the drive.
On the
Bears possession, they move it down field with the
long pass, setting a 30 yard run for Eric DeSena who
would score for the touchdown to give the Bears the
early lead 6-0.
But the
Tiger Sharks offence would begin to make a march
down field themselves, where Nicholas Day would
catch a 20 yard touchdown throw and rush it in to
tie the game at 6-6.
The Tiger
Sharks would continue their push before the half, as
Keyshaun Jordan would also pick up a long pass to
move the Tiger Sharks down field. With time ticking
away, another pass to Jordan would put the Tiger
Sharks inside the 15, but time would expire on the
half, as the two teams were locked at 6-6.
But
Keyshaun Jordan would pick up where he left off in
the first half, this time running the ball for 20
yards to the outside for the touchdown and also
adding the extra two points on a kick to give the
Tiger Sharks their first lead 14-6.
The Bears
on the next kick off would get excellent field
possession after a bad kick put them in the Tiger
Sharks zone, but the Bears could not move it enough
for the score, turning the ball over on downs. On
the resulting next play, the Tiger Sharks would snap
it on their own 30 yard line where Kobe Cox would
rush it all the way down to the 3 yard line before
being taken down, just as the 3rd quarter ended. Cox
would finish the play off in the 4th quarter,
rushing up the middle for the touchdown, as the
Tiger Sharks lead 22-6.
The Tiger
Sharks found success in the 4th quarter on the
ground, as Jack VanWolde would bust up the middle
for another large 30 yard run to set up another 10
yard touchdown run by Cox for his second touchdown
of the quarter.
The Tiger
Sharks would go on to win 30-6, and remain
undefeated at 4-0-0.
