St. Thomas, ON
– The Sarnia Legionnaires are losers of their
last three games, and four of their last five to
start the season after a 5-2 loss to the St. Thomas
Stars Sunday night.
For the
second game this week, Sarnia held the lead to start
the game after Shawn Waldie scored in the first to
make it a 1-0 game.
St. Thomas
would return with four unanswered goals before Derek
D'Andrea could score in the middle of the third to
end the five goal streak of the Stars.
Drew
Collinson got the scoring started for the Stars in
the first, followed by Mac Wood and Brad Kraus
scoring 41 seconds apart to make it a 3-1 game after
the first period.
Brett Hope
had the lone goal in the second for the Stars who
outshot Sarnia 15-14 in the period.
Matt
Schurr would add the Stars fifth straight goal for
the Stars in the 5-2 victory.
Sarnia and
St. Thomas tied in shots 42-42, but the lack off
offence outside of the Legionnaires home opener has
been an ongoing concern for Sarnia.

lone win came in their home opener in a 9-2 victory
LaSalle.
Kyle
Washer had the start for Sarnia, stopping 37 shots
in the loss.
Sarnia
