London, ON
– With the first of three games on their
schedule this week, the Lambton Shores Predators
travelled to London to take on the Nationals, only
to come away with a 6-4 loss, their second loss on
the road to start the season.
London's
Thomas Menchella score twice in the first six
minutes to give the Nationals a 2-0 lead. But it
would be the Predators powerplay that would help
spark the offence and get them back into the game,
as Kyle Brothers score his third of the season to
cut the lead in half.
Nick Erb
would tie it up for the Predators with just over a
minute to go, but the Predators would fall victim to
the powerplay themselves, as Aaron Dartch scored
with 19 seconds remaining in the first to take a 3-2
lead.
Lambton
Shores was outshot in the period 12-7.
In the
second period London would begin to take a larger
lead on the Predators, as Jonathon Sims made it a
4-2 game, following by Scott Lombardi midway through
the second, as the Nationals took a three goal lead.
But again
the Predators would use their powerplay as a source
of goal production, as Garrett Hesier scored late in
the second to make it a 5-3 game.
Lambton
Shores would cut the lead to one midway through the
third as Jake Carter scored. But the Nationals would
add one more a minute later, as Menechella would
score his hat-trick, and seal the 6-4 victory for
London.
Mark Foley
got the start for the Predators, making 31 saves in
the loss. Lambton Shores was out shot 37-22 in the
game.
Lambton
Shores will now travel to Sarnia on Thursday for a
game against the Legionnaires.
