andrew brethauer September 19th, 2011

Wheatley, ON –  It looked as if everything was going Mooretown's way, as the Flags held a 3-0 lead over the Wheatley Sharks with three minutes to go in the first period. But Wheatley would reply with four unanswered goals, and come from behind for the 4-3 victory.

Mooretown scored all three of their goals in the first period. Josh Teschke got his first of the season to put the Flags up 1-0 five minutes into the game. Jeff Schroeter would add the second goal of the period, and Kurtis Glowa would add the third, as Mooretown took a 3-0 lead after 16:15 of the first period.

But Wheatley would start the comeback at the end of the first, as Josh Temblay scored with 18 seconds left to cut the lead down to two.

In the second period they would make it a one goal game, again scoring with only a few seconds left in the period, as Riley Babkirk made it a 3-2 game.

In the third, the Sharks would tie it up in the first two minutes, as Robery Jardine scored to make it a 3-3 game. Mooretown would get a chance on the powerplay after a Kurtis Ouellette slashing penalty, but it would be the Sharks would captialize, as Austin Fontaine scored a minute into the powerplay to give the Sharks a 4-3 lead.

Mooretown couldn't find the tying goal, and would drop their second game of the year 4-3.

Seth Hellinga got his first start of the season making 30 saves in the loss.

Mooretown will look to get their first win of the season Saturday, September 24th when they host the Blenheim Blades.
