– Four games kicked of the regular season in
the Sarnia Flag Football Association in Sarnia on
Sunday September 18, 2011. With 2 upsets in the day,
it was a great start to what will no doubt be a very
exciting season.
At 11:00,
the Lambton Metal Service Rampage posted the first
upset victory of the day with a surprising score of
42 to 27 over the 6 time defending champions, the
Bluewater Power Titans. In the second game at 11:00,
the Phoenix's Phoenixes dominated the expansion
team, the HSE Integrated/CIS Roughnecks by a score
of 54 to 7.
At 1:00,
the Rampage played their second game of the day and
it was clear the Titans did not tax them enough as
the Rampage again posted a high scoring 54-7 victory
over the Roughnecks. In the second game at 1:00, the
ANWIS Heat upset the favored On-Site Sportswear
Power Champs by a score of 26-19.
Of special
note in the day, Rampage's Corey Johnson scored 7
touchdowns in 2 games. Jim Grasse of the Titans had
a good day on defense posting 2 sacks and 14 flags
tying his own SFFA league record for Most Flags in a
Single Game.
Next week,
September 25, 4 games again will be played at
Lansdowne Park with the Bluewater Power Titans
taking on the On-Site Sportswear Power Champ and the
Phoenix's Phoenixes taking on the Lambton Metal
Service Rampage at 11:00. At 1:00, the HSE
Integrated/CIS Roughnecks will meet the ANWIS Heat
and the On-Site Sportswear Power Champs will
challenge the Phoenix's Phoenixes.
