Chatham, ON – Their winning streak may end at one, but the Lambton Shores Predators kept it close, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Chatham Maroons after a late third period powerplay goal.

Chatham opened the game early in the first when Michael Verboom made it 1-0, 3:39 in the first period. Predators goalie Mark Foley would face 18 shots in the period and only allow the single goal, keeping the Predators in the game. Brendon Merritt would tie it up late in the third, making it a 1-1 game.

In the second, Chatham would again pound the Lambton Shores goalie with shots, outshooting the Predators 21-14. Troy Cox would get the periods only goal, as the Maroons jumped out to the second period lead.

In the third, the Predators would look for the equalizer. While on the powerplay, Jake Carter would knot the game back up at 9:47 of the third period.

But the Predators would get themselves into penalty troubles, and the Maroons would make them pay, as Trevor Richardson would put another shot passed Foley to give the Maroons the victory.

In total Foley faced 62 shots and made 59 saves in the loss, allowing only one goal per period. The Predators managed 30 shots in the game on Conner MacKinnon who picked up the victory.

Lambton Shores is now 1-1-0, and will take Friday off before returning to home ice for a Saturday game against Strathroy, and a Sunday game against St. Marys.
