Leamington, ON – The Sarnia Legionnaires dropped
their first game of the season on the road to the
Leamington Flyers 3-1 on Thursday night, allowing
two powerplay goals on seven powerplays despite
going 0 for 8 on their own powerplay.
Tanner
Ferguson got the Legionnaires on the board first
with his first period goal 3:46 into the first
period. Kyle Washer stopped all 12 shots Leamington
tossed on net to give Sarnia 1-0 lead after the
first period.
In the
second period while on a powerplay, Alex Seguin
would knot the game up a 1-1.
The third
would see Seguin score his second powerplay goal of
the game 3:06 into the third period, giving
Leamington their first lead. Nick Beaune would add a
second goal in the period for the Flyers, as
Leamington skated to a 3-1 victory.
Sarnia
outshot the Flyers 30-28, with Kyle Washer making 27
saves in the loss, and Colin Greeley making 29 saves
in the win for the Flyers.
Sarnia
will look for their first win of the season at home
on Thursday, September 8th, as they welcome the
LaSalle Vipers to the Sarnia Arena.
