In their
very first
game
together as
a team, the
Sarnia Express
faced
probably one
of the
leagues
strongest opponents
from Aylmer,
Ontario.
Sarnia
unfortunately
came up
short in a
great
effort,
losing 3-1.
The lone
goal for the
Express came
from the
hardworking
Tiffany
Daley, she
was assisted
by Brandi
Warner. It
was a
valiant
effort it
net by
goaltender
Kate
Rawlings,
keeping
Sarnia in
the game
from start
to finish.
The Express
played their
second
season game
at Home on
Sunday Oct.
23rd, facing
the
Kitchener
Rangers.
Sarnia
opened the
scoring
halfway
through the
first period
on a shot
from the
point from
Alicia
MacDougall
that was
deflected nicely
by Brandi
Warner for
her first
goal of the
season.
Tiffany
Daley also
picked up an
assist on
the play.
Sarnia would
score again
early into
the second
period after
some
great pressure
in front of
the Rangers
net by the
Express.
Lacey Cote
picked up a
rebound and
top
shelved the
puck over
the goalie.
Assisting on
the play
were, Jocelyn
Steadman and
Alicia
MacDougall.
Sarnia would
score once
more in the
second
on the power
play. After
some great
puck
cycling,
Tiffany
Daley would
find the
back of the
net,
bringing the
Express up
3-0. Assists
went to
Alicia
MacDougall
and Denise
Coubrough.
The game
would finish
with the
teams first
win, and a
well
earned shutout
by goalie
Lisa Myers.
Sarnia is on
the road
next
Sunday,
stopping in
Waterloo for
the teams
first
meeting,
then heading
out for a
late
afternoon
game in
London.
