defeated the

Tavistock Royals
by a score of 2

Senior AA Hockey
League action.
Tavistock ran
into penalty
troubles just
2:00 minutes
into the game to
give the Squires
the man
advantage. On
the powerplay JJ
Martin recorded
his first goal
of the season
assisted by Dan
Veenema.
Petrolia's
second goal came
2:59 seconds
later when Scott
Hull scored his
4th goal of the
season assisted
by Breyndan
Belan and Brad
Hull. Both
sides would
continue and
remain scoreless
for the rest of
the period and
the second
period as well.
In the third
Tavistock took a
powerplay
advantage and
narrowed the gap
with Chad
Swartzenruber
scoring for the
Royals with 4:23
remaining.
The Squires held
on to take the 2
- 1 win.
The Royals
outshot the
Squires 44 - 30.
Justin Day
earned the win
for the Squires
and Evan
Groenestege took
the loss for the
Royals.
Both goalies are
now 2 - 2 for
the season.
The Squires are
also 2 - 2 for
the season as
they head for
Komoka for a
7:15 start on
Saturday Oct 22
in the first of
two games in a
home/home series
against the
Komoka Classics.
