With the
goalie pulled and a minute remaining in
the game the Jr. Sting were looking for
the equalizer against the Cyclones from
Chatham Kent Thursday evening at the RBC
Lambton, stuck in a scoring drought
spanning 5 periods of hockey, had played
a very strong game for 39 minutes but
had come up empty on the scoresheet.
They were looking for somebody to step
up and bury a goal as Ben Schoch went on
for the goalie he cruised into the
offensive zone just as the puck squirted
loose to the oncoming sniper. Schoch
blasted a hard slapshot thru
traffic that eluded the goalie to give
Lambton a 1-1 tie. Conner Royer and Nash
Nienhuis assisted, working hard down low
to obtain the puck.
The Jr. Sting gave a solid effort
and controlled play when they stayed out
of the box.
Ethan Hunt was solid in net only
allowing Chatham a single goal.
Lambton needs to find ways to generate
some offense as it is very hard to win
averaging less than 2 goals per game.
Defensively the Jr. Sting have been very
good also allowing just less than 2
goals per game.
