Saginaw,
MI – With three unanswered goals, the Sarnia
Sting came back from a 2-0 deficit to win their
second on the road this week, with a 3-2 victory
over the Saginaw Spirit.
After a
scoreless first period, Saginaw got a quick one just
50 seconds into the second period, as Michael Fine
made it a 1-0 game. Four minutes later Justin Kea
would make it 2-0 Saginaw.
But Sarnia
would respond and it would be on the powerplay, as
Nail Yakupov would put in his 12th of the season to
cut the lead in half. Before the period could end,
Ludvig Rensfeldt would add his sixth of the season
to tie things at 2-2 at the end of the second.
In the
third, Charlie Sarault would also add his sixth of
the season, as both Rensfeldt and Yakupov would pick
up their second points on the night with assists in
what would ultimately be the game winner.
Sarnia has
been 3-0-1 in their last four since their seven game
winning streak was ended on October 20th. Sarnia
still sits on top of the West Division with an
11-2-0-2 record on the season.
Sarnia
will head to London for an afternoon meeting on
Sunday.
