Essex, ON – The Alvinston Flyers have dropped their third in five games after a 3-0 loss to the Essex 73's Tuesday night in Essex.

Zach Miletic and Chad Hedrick had first periods goals for the 73's, while Scott Bromley added a late third period goal in the 3-0 shutout. Taylor Speed made 9 saves for the shutout victory while Sebastien Malette stopped 42 in the loss.

It was the first time this season the Flyers have been held scoreless, as Alvinston was only able to put 9 shots on net through three periods, including only one in the second period, being outshot 19-1.

The loss keeps the Flyers in second place behind the Mooretown Flags in the North division, but Alvinston still has a game in hand.

The Flyers will next welcome Wallaceburg into Alvinston on Friday, October 21st.
