Sarnia, ON – Adam Glover will be taking to the field
in San Diego, CA December 27th through January 8th
as part of Team Canada's Jr. Football team.

The
22-year-old former Northern Viking was looking to be
scouted to play professional football in Europe, but
got the call to play for Team Canada after the team
scouted Glover's play through the Sarnia Imperials.
Glover will play safety as part of the 44 man
roster, where he is the only person selected between
Sarnia and London.
Glover
will report to the mini-training camp in December
before heading to San Diego to represent his
country.
"I'm very
honoured by the opportunity," Glover said. "It's
very humbling."
Glover was
a part of the a Northern Viking team that won four
championships in five years. Former coach Craig
Davies says the opportunity speaks a lot to Glover's
character on and off the field.
"From a
coach perspective, I'm very proud to have one of
your former football players to go on," said Davies.
"Not everyone gets this chance, so congratulations
to Adam. He worked really hard."
Davies
describes Glover as a great team player and solid
defensive player that fit well into the scheme at
Northern. After his high school career, Glover was
part of the Lambton Lions, before moving on with the
Sarnia Imperials. He currently attends Lambton
College and will look to move on to the University
of Windsor to become a teacher.
By playing
for Canada, the doors have opened for Glover to play
professionally. Scouts will be on hand in San Diego
looking at all the players, and Glover hopes he is
someone the scouts can take notice of.
Glover is
responsible for the $1850 cost to travel to the
tournament, and has had success with local
business's who have helped to donate. If you wish to
help Adam, you can visit any TD Canada Trust Bank
and submit a donation to Adam Glover 3624-6517513.
This
opportunity has also provided local football players
with other options in order to continue their
football career if the College or University route
does not work.
