Legionnaires shutout Vipers

LaSalle, ON –  The Sarnia Legionnaires have won three straight coming off a 5-0 shutout over the LaSalle Vipers Wednesday night.

Sarnia out shot LaSalle 10-4 in the first, as the Legionnaires took a 2-0 lead. Tyler Cicchini scored first for Sarnia, while Nathan Mater got his second goal as a Legionnaires to give Sarnia the early lead.

In the second period, Evan Dixon would score 48 seconds into the period to increase the lead to 3-0. He would put one more on the board on the powerplay for his second of the game, while Shawn Waldie would add the fifth goal of the game for Sarnia.

Jesse Drydak had three assists, all coming in the second period, while Waldie also had an assist to go with his goal.

Sean Parker made 18 saves for his first win and shutout of the season.

Sarnia continues on the road, heading to Welland on Saturday before returning home next Thursday to take on Strathroy.
