Sarnia, ON –
SMAA football had the Atom division competing
Wednesday night, as all four teams were in action,
with the ShockWave and Inferno picking up close
victories.
The
ShockWave defeated the Razor Claws 22-14, picking up
16 points in the first half. Caden C ormier
dove in from the 4 yard line for the first score,
and while Zachary Trembly kicked the covert for the
extra two points. Carter Baron scored on his own 4
yard touchdown run later in the half with Trembly
again making the covert.
Isaac
Kiddran had the lone score for the Razor Claws in
the first half off a long 32 yard touchdown run, yet
the Razor Claws would still trail 16-6 after the
first half.
In the
second half, Baron would add his second touchdown
run of the game with a 16 yard run, adding six
points to the ShockWave's score. Quinn Beauregard
ran in a 4 yard touchdown run for the Razor Claws,
while Tobias Crossland kicked the extra two point
convert.
But the
Razor Claws would not be able to cover the remained
of the score, as the ShockWave go on to the 22-14
victory.
In the
second game, the Inferon edged out the Iron Hides by
a touchdown, with a 20-14 victory.

Ethan
Kerby had the Inferno's first touchdown on a 45 yard
run on the first play of the game to give the
Inferno a 6- lead. Kerby would add a second
touchdown on a 30 yard run later in the half for his
second score. Jaxon Lucas would answer Kerby's long
runs with a 35 yard run of his own for the Iron
Hides, but the Inferno would still lead 12-6 after
the first half.
In the
second half, Kerby would add his third touchdown
with a 25 yard run, going over the 100 yard mark on
rushing touchdowns. The Iron Hides would get a score
from Avery Smiley who ran it for 7 yards and also
added two on the convert, but the Inferno would add
a safety, and take the game 20-14.
All SMAA
players for the month of October are wearing pink
socks in support of breast cancer awareness, and 250
pairs have been donated to the SMAA league.
