Strathroy, ON – It has been a tough four days for
the Lambton Shored Predators, as they drop their
third game in four days Tuesday night in Strathroy
to the Rockets in a close 6-5 game.
Jake
Carter had the Predators in the lead to start the
game, as his powerplay goal earned the Predators a
quick 1-0 lead. But that lead didn't last long, as
Davis Brown would score 18 seconds later to tie
things at 1-1, which is how the period would end.
In the
second, it was all Rockets, as they pound the
Predators with 18 shots on net, compared to the 5
shots from Lambton Shores. Tyler Duarte had two
goals in the period, while he also picked up an
assist on Jack Baribeau's goal. Davis Brown had his
second of the game as well, while Tyler Coleman and
Chase Thornton each picked up two assists each on
both of Durate's goals, as the Rockets lead after
the second 5-1.
But
Lambton Shores would again go back to their
powerplay to cut into the lad. Ryan Rontondi scored
his first of the game on the powerplay, and would
follow it up ten minutes later with his second of
the period on the powerplay. Chase Thornton would
score 40 seconds after Rontondi's second goal,
making it a 6-3 game.
Rontondi
would complete his hat-trick, this time scoring 5 on
5. Brandon Butler would add another goal with an
extra attacker, but that would be as close they the
Predators would come, as they fall just short 6-5.
Rontondi
would have three goals and a assist on the night,
while Kyle Brothers would also have a four point
night picking up four assists.
Mark Foley
and Brandon Campbell split duty in net, as Foley
made 15 saves on 17 shots, and Campbell 12 saves on
16 shots. The Predators outshot the Rockets 37-35.
This is
the third straight loss for the Predators who lost
to Leamington on Saturday 3-2, and St. Thomas on
Sunday 5-2. The Predators continue their road swing,
as they take on St. Marys on Friday, and Guelph on
Saturday.
