The Northern Jr. Vikings
capped off their 2011
football season with a 35-18
win over the St. Clair Colts
in the LSSAA finals, played
at St. Christopher's.
The
Vikings scored first when
quarterback Kobe Lundy kept
the ball for a 10 yard run
into the endzone. Mason
Kett added the extra point.
With 2:00 remaining in the
first half, Lundy scored
again from seven yards out,
and Kett added another extra
point. St. Clair finished
the half with a touchdown of
their own, but their 2 point
conversion attempt was
incomplete. The score was
Vikings 14, Colts 6 at the
half.
Mitchell Smiley scored the
Vikings' first second half
touchdown on a 30 yard run.
St. Clair blocked the extra
point attempt. At 9:35 of
the 4th quarter, a Mason
Kett punt ended in a one
point Rouge for the
Vikings. St. Clair added
another major at 5:21, but
their 2 point conversion
attempt was no good. Lundy
and Smiley added another
touchdown apiece,
and another major from the
Colts left the final score
Vikings 35, Colts 18.
Defensively for the Vikings,
Mason Kett and Greg Roberts
both had solid games, making
key tackles.
