November 12th, 2011 – Point Edward Blackhawks traveled to Strathroy to face the Strathroy Black.
The 1st period started out with both teams being evenly matched. The play was intense with both teams getting multiple scoring opportunities, but it was the Blackhawks who were able to take advantage of one of these opportunities, and took the lead 1-0 before the end of the period.
The 2nd period was the same, with the puck constantly moving from end to end, but neither team being able to slip one past the goaltenders. It appeared that both teams defence was evenly matched to the other team’s offence and neither one could break the pace, until 18 seconds left in the period and a Blackhawks defence man was able to take the puck all the way down, to open the lead by one more.
The 3rd period started out on the flip side with Strathroy firing one past the Blackhawks goalie, 30 seconds onto the final period. Not at all phased by this, the Blackhawks turned around and 10 seconds later regained their 2 goal lead. Strathroy was almost able to hold the Blackhawks at bay, only allowing 1 more goal to finish the game in favour of the Blackhawks, 4-1.
The “Performance Player of the Game” Award went to Corson Young for outstanding teamwork and his ability to take any coach’s advice and make it happen on the ice.

November 19th, 2011 – Point Edward Blackhawks were home to Strathroy Blue.
As it always seems to be, against the Strathroy teams, it appeared that the Blackhawks and the Blue were on even playing ground. Off to a late start, game delayed ½ hour, both teams were eager to play but possibly a little worn from a long warm up. With the flow of the 1st period teetering back and forth, it was Strathroy who would strike the first blow, firing one down the ice catching the Blackhawks off guard. That might have been all it took for the Blackhawks to realize it was “game on”. The Blackhawks answered back ending this period with a 1-1 tie.
The 2nd period, again had the play shifting favour constantly, with neither team advancing on the other. Even with the Blue’s shorthanded, they were able to hold the Blackhawks off. Finally, with 3:00 mins. left in the period the Blackhawks let loose and started finding the back of the net. The period ended with the Blackhawks up, 4-1
The 3rd period was intense, with numerous shots on goal. The positioning of each player was the highlight of this period making it a very entertaining game to watch. The defence stayed strong, and wouldn’t let Strathroy stay too long in our zone, while the forwards were quick to look for passing opportunities. The last goal of the game came in with 1:22 left in the period.
Final Score – Point Edward Blackhawks win 5-1
The “Performance Player of the Game” Award went to Owen Kennedy for sticking his position and not slowing down for a second.

November 24th, 2011 – Point Edward Blackhawks were home to Strathroy Red.
After a long delay, what was meant to be the Blackhawks first game of the season, which was postponed due to referee scheduling conflicts, was about to take place.
The 1st period began with both team feeling each other out, neither team giving up an inch but neither team backing down either. Both goalies were ready and waiting for the next big shot and it wasn’t until 5:56 left in the period that the Blackhawks were able to sneak one by the Red’s goalie.
The 2nd period started with the Strathroy Red’s scoring two goals, back to back, in less than a minute. That was all it took for the Blackhawks to turn it on, and come at the Red’s with full force, coming from behind (2-1) and taking the lead, to finish the period at 5-2.
Nothing changed in the 3rd period, with the Blackhawks still on the offence, the gap continued to grow. Even with a few changes to the line up, the Blackhawks were able to adapt and keep the flow of the game in their favour.
Final Score – Point Edward Blackhawks win 8-2
The “Performance Player of the Game” Award went to Nolan Cadieux for giving it his all, and making good use out of the rest of his line.
