Avant
Guard promotions is proud to
announce that they have
teamed up with THE SCORE
FIGHTING SERIES to bring the
community and now the
Country, MELTDOWN IN THE
VALLEY.
This is a once in a life
time opportunity for not
only for the Fighters of
MELTDOWN IN THE VALLEY but
the community of Sarnia
itself.
The Score will broadcast the
show as part of the SCORE
FIGHTING SERIES within a
month of the December 3
bouts. to be broadcast
within weeks of the event
"This event has the kind of
match-ups we're looking for
with a nice mix of MMA
veterans and exciting, young
fighters," says Brendan
Fyfe, Director of the Score
Fighting Series.
"A number of guys on the
card have competed in the
Score Fighting Series before
but they were always the
visiting team. It will be
awesome to see fighters like
John Fraser, Chris Clements
and Jesse Gross step into
the cage with home town
support behind them."
Avant-Guard is very excited
about this announcement,
especially with the fact
that MMA Legend Rich
Franklin will also be
involved in the event. “With
the Franklin announcement
last week along with the MMA
expo, and the fa! ct THE
SCORE FIGHTING SERIES and
Avant-Guard have teamed up
to bring the community an
event of this magnitude, we
are obviously very excited,”
CEO of Avant-guard, Woodrow
James said.
“We have been working for
weeks to have THE SCORE
FIGHTING SERIES be apart of
this event. They felt
because the fights we have
put together are so exciting
and that they not only
highlight the locally
produced fighters. but some
very talented fighters from
both Canada and the United
States was a key draw for t
hem. This is a huge deal for
Sarnia, and the surrounding
communities to have THE
SCORE take part in our first
event.” James said
that this is one of the
final pieces of the puzzles
Avant-Guard was looking for
to bring the community a
nationally televised event
to Sarnia and now Canada.
“We have had nothing but
positive support from not
only the fighting community
but residents and the
business community of Sarnia
as well,” James said. “
Because of the out going
support and interest in not
only the fights themselves,
but the EXPO (which will
take part the day of the
fights from 1pm to 4pm),
Avant-Guard would like to
announce that they have
added more tables for the
EXPO, which will be
available to the business
community starting today.
MMA Legend Rich Franklin
will be at the EXPO signing
autographs and meeting with
fans.
During the Expo ring
girls will also be available
for photos and autographs.
The Ring Girl
competition will be this
Saturday November 12 at 10
pm at the Lazy Duck in
Sarnia.

"I am very excited about the
matchup between "The Menace"
Chris Clements and 7 time
UFC veteran Forrest " The
Meat Clever" Petz, this will
truly prove where Clements
ranks in the country and in
the world at welterweight,”
James said
“I have to think that a win
over such a veteran in the
sport will means big things
for Chris. And to think yet
another local fighter to
announce in such a high
profile bout we truly are
fortunate to have this much
talent in our own backyard.
This match has fireworks
written all over it"
As for the announcement of
another local, Jesse Gross,
James had this to say,
"Such a relief knowing Jesse
Gross is officially
competing here in Sarnia, it
wouldn't feel right to me
having this event without
him on the card. He has been
with me since day one
running events in Michigan
and we've been together for
alot of big things in the
sport. I like to think of
him as family and i cant
wait to announce who we have
lined up to compete against
him. "
