The
Sarnia Express Senior AA Ladies team were in
Kitchener this past Sunday for a double header.
The extremely strong
net minders for the Express pulled off a pair of
shutouts to give Sarnia two more wins bringing
their impressive record to 5 wins and only 1
loss.
Game one was against
the Kitchener Rangers. Sarnia would open the
scoring on a tip in by Nicky Futers. Linemates
Tiffany Daley and Brandi Warner would each pick
up an assist. Nicky Futers' hard work would be
rewarded again as she scored her second of the
game. The great teamwork of Brandi Warner and
Tiffany Daley would earn them both assists.
Sarnia's Tiffany Daley would score Sarnia's
third goal of the game after a nice pass from
the point by Brooke Clubb. The Express would
easily win the game 3-0. Kate Rawlings picked up
her first shutout of the season.
In their second game
of the day, Sarnia would face the Kitchener Wild
who would give the Express a run for their money
in a very closely matched game. The only goal of
the game came when Jocelyn Steadman took a shot
from a sharp angle scoring in the top corner.
Alicia MacDougall assisted. Lisa Myers had her
second shutout of the season after stopping
numerous good scoring opportunities by the Wild.
The Sarnia Express
are home this coming Sunday for a 2:00 game at
the Point Edward Arena against Waterloo.
