Petrolia Squires outplay the Wildcats

   The Petrolia Squires hosted the Monkton Wildcats on Friday night and sent them home with a 7 - 1 loss.

The Squires took a 2 - 0 lead in the first period with Jason  McPhail and Rob Vanwynsberghe (SH) scoring. Second period action saw Petrolia adding to the scoreboard with James Edgar scoring the lone goal in the period.  This  period Petrolia continued with the addition of four more goals by Scott McPhail with 2, Dan Veenema and Kyle Crawford scoring singles.  Monkton spoiled Brad Holborough shutout bid with just :28 seconds remaining.  Shayne McClure scored the lone Wildcats goal.  The Wildcats outshot the Squires 35 - 33. 

The Squires are sitting in 4th spot  in the standings race with 4 wins and 4 ties.  The team is back in action on Nov 11 at home at the Greenwood Recreation Centre, game time 8:00 pm against the Goderich Pirates.  On Sat they head to Milverton to take  on the 4Wheel Drives.
