The Sarnia Jr.
Sting Minor Atom
MD's returned
home hosting the
London Bandits
Black at the
Sarnia Arena on
Saturday October
29th. Both
teams found
themselves in a
four way tie for
the lead in the
West MD
standings. A win
would move their
positioning a
top the
standings.
The Jr. Sting
were fired up
and raring to go
before puck
drop. Having won
their first game
of the season
last week the
kids were
determined to
repeat their
performance.
Sarnia began
strong pinning
London early in
their own end.
Many scoring
chances arose,
however solid
Bandit
goaltending and
defending kept
the Sting in
check. Sting
goalie, Ian
Stouth saw
limited action
but kept the
game close
making saves
when needed.
The game was
tied a zero's
heading into the
third period. At
the 5:17 mark
London got on
the board
scoring on a
partial
breakaway.
Seconds later
the Bandits
would add to
their lead on a
goalmouth
scramble in
which the puck
was deflected
into the top
corner of the
Sarnia net. The
Sting fought
hard in the
dying minutes to
try and solve
the London
goalie however
time ran out
finding the
Sting on the
short end.
Final score:
Sarnia Jr. Sting
0 - London
Bandits Black
2.
