Leamington, ON
- The Lambton Shores Predators won their third
straight with a 5-1 victory over the first place
Leamington Flyers Thursday in Junior B hockey.
Predators
goalie Justin Tugwell stopped 53 shots, as
Leamington outshot the Predators 54-19, but were
unable to score more then once.
"It was a
very good game for Tugwell," said head coach Mark
Davis. "He played outstanding. We had a lot of
penalties and Tugwell came through for us."
Adam
Arseneault started the scoring with a powerplay
goal, followed by Trevor Ladd with a shorthanded
goal to make it a 2-0 Lambton Shores lead after the
first period, despite being outshot 17-7.
Brett
Thompson would make it 3-0 with a penalty shot goal
before Brett Babkirk scored on the powerplay to get
the Flyers on the boards. But again, despite a 19-6
shot margin, the Flyers would give another goal to
Kyle Brothers and trail 4-1 after two periods of
play.
Ladd would
add his second of the game to start the third
period, as the Predators take it 5-1.
Lambton
Shores will host St. Thomas on Saturday followed by
Strathroy on Sunday.
