Chatham, ON - The Sarnia Legionnaires allowed four
goals in the second period to the Chatham Maroons,
as Chatham defeated Sarnia 8-3 in junior B action.
Sarnia
started with the lead in the first period, as Shawn
Waldie opened the scoring shorthanded. But from here
on, Chatham would proceed to score the next six
goals of the game.
Brennan
Feasey tied the game for Chatham, followed by Sean
Myers scoring on the power play just over a minute
later to give the Maroons a 2-1 lead after the
first.
In the
second the Maroons continued to score, as Sam
Studnicka adding Chatham's third straight goal,
followed by Michael Verboom, Blake Bondeel and
Feasey picking up his second of the game, as the
Maroons took a 6-1 lead. Jeff Schroeter would end
Chatham's goal streak at the end of the second, but
the Legionnaires still trailed by four.
In the
third, Chatham continued to put goals in, as Evan
Mascaro scored on the power play and Burke D'Souza
added the 8th goal of the game for the Maroons.
Justice Dundas would add a late Legionnaires goal,
but Chatham still went on to the 8-3 victory.
Kyle
Washer made 34 saves on 40 shots before being
removed to start the third. Sean Park made 8 saves
on 10 shots in 20 minutes.
Sarnia
went 1-2-1 on the weekend in four games, and will
have a busy weekend next week as they host LaSalle
on Thursday before heading to Lambton Shores on
Friday and St. Thomas on Sunday.
