Clinton, ON - The Petrolia Squires had five
different goal scores in their 5-4 victory Friday
night against the Clinton Radars in WOAA Sr. AA
Men's hockey.
The Radars
would jump out to the lead in the first period,
scoring two powerplay goals as Tyler Elligsen got
the first and J.J. Sparling made it 2-0. But with 12
seconds remaining in the period, Rob Vanwynsberghe
would cut the lead in half with his powerplay goal,
as Petrolia trailed 2-1 after the first.
In the
second, the Squires would tie the game and take over
the lead, as Brad Cooper made it a 2-2 game with his
first goal of the year, followed by Chase Clark
scoring on the powerplay with 35 seconds remaining,
as the Squires lead 3-2 after two periods.
In the
third, Ryan Chapman would get his second of the year
to put Petrolia up by two, but the Radars would
again respond on the powerplay as Tyler VanDrunen
would make it a 4-3 game.
JJ Martin
would put the Squires again up by two goals, but it
wouldn't last long as Nick VanerBurgt would make it
a one goal game scoring for the Radars. But it is as
close as they would come, as the Squires hold off
Clinton and take it 5-4.
Brad
Holborough made 37 saves in the victory for
