Listowel, ON - The Sarnia Legionnaires score five
times in the second period as part of a 9-3 victory
over the Listowel Cyclones, their second out of
conference victory of the week.
The
Cyclones had the first goal of the game, as Brett
Catto made it 1-0. But Sarnia would go on a six goal
streak, ending well into the second period.
Louie Rowe
would score on the powerplay and later add his
second of the game in the first period, as Sarnia
left the first period with a 2-1 lead.
In the
second, Steve Farlow made it 3-1 with his early
period goal, followed two minutes later by Jesse
Drydak. Thomas Moxley would add an unassisted goal
midway through the period, and Shawn Waldie would
add one more before the Cyclones could finally score
again, as Ben Shelley answered on the 6th goal. But
Waldie would add his second of the period to make it
a 7-2 game after two periods.
In the
third, Jeff Schroeter, a call up from the Mooretown
Flags would get his second as a Legionnaires 1:23
into the first period. Justice Dundas would add the
final goal for the Legionnaires, as Catto could only
manage one more goal for the Cyclones, ending the
game with a final of 9-3.
Sean
Parker got his second straight start and earned his
5th victory of the season, stopping 26 shots on the
night.
Sarnia
will next play London in a home and home series,
starting in London on Wednesday and returning home
to Sarnia on Thursday.
