October
22nd vs Parkhill
Point Edwards PeeWee Blackhawks hosted Parkhill and
won 3-2 in a hard fought battle in Lambton-Middlesex
league action.
Both teams came out slow with defense being the name
of the game as neither team put a lot of pressure in
the opposing teams end. By the mid-point of the
period, things heated up and both teams were
aggressive towards getting the puck. The Hawks
struck first when the Parkhill goalie gave up a big
rebound off a Raymond Hocking shot and Lamore put in
the rebound to make it 1-0.
The second saw Parkhill put the pressure on and they
caught the Point on a long shift to tie the game
early in the period at 1-1. The rest of the period
played out like a tennis match with end-to-end play
with the defense keeping the puck away from the net.
Parkhill took a late period hooking penalty and the
Hawks took full advantage when Hunking shot the puck
and Canie slammed in the rebound to give them a 2-1
lead into the third.
Parkhill retaliated early in the third to tie it at
2-2 when the Hawks couldn’t clear the puck out of
their zone. The rest of the period was equally
matched until late in the period when Kennedy
cleared the zone, catching Parkhill pinching in, to
an open Noah Best who went down the ice to make it
3-2 for the win.
