Super Saturday of football finals

Sarnia, ON – Saturday, November 5th will be Super Saturday for Sarnia football, as the SMAA and the LSSAA football finals will finish off their seasons on the weekend.

In SMAA football, the Inferno will meet the Iron Hides in the Atom division finals, after the Inferno knocked off the Shock Wave 26-0, and Iron Hides defeated the Razor Claws 18-0. The Iron Hides won the season series 2-1 with the most recent 26-16 victory on October 8th. The Atom Championship will go at 10:00am on Saturday.

In the Peewee Championship at 11:30pm, the Avengers will take on the Storm. The Avengers defeated the Force 13-10, while the Storm defeated the Fury 21-13. The Avengers won the season series 2-1, winning 31-6, and 14-13, but their latest match up on October 15th saw the Storm win 33-19.

And in the Bantam final at 1:00pm, the Toros will take on the Tiger Sharks. The Toros defeated the Beats 24-12 while the Tiger Sharks defeated the Mammoths 30-18 to get into the finals. The Toro's won two of three meetings with the Tiger Sharks, losing their first meeting 22-8 back in September before winning the last two meetings 40-36 and 34-24.

All finals for SMAA football will be played at Norm Perry Park.

In LSSAA senior football finals that also go Saturday, it will be a rematch of last years finals, as the St. Christopher Cyclones take on the Northern Vikings. Northern advanced with a 45-7 victory over LCCVI, while the Cyclones got by with a 6-1 victory over St. Patrick's. Northern defeated St. Chris 24-10 in their only meeting this season and have won 9 of the last 10 LSSAA championships in senior football.

The senior game games at 2:30, with the junior game going at noon. Both are at St. Christopher's.
