Flyers earn third overtime loss in six game losing streak
andrew brethauer November 11th, 2011

Alvinston, ON - In Great Lakes Jr C Hockey the Alvinston Flyers winless streak has reached six games. The Flyers dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Blenheim Blades Friday night in Alvinston, giving the Flyers three overtime losses in those six games.

Blenheim had the first period lead after a Taylor Phillips goal, but the Flyers would take the lead in the second period after Joe Archer scored on the powerplay to tie the game, and Dan Warner would add the second minutes later for a 2-1 Alvinston lead. But the powerplay would cause the Flyers troubles, as Thomas Innes would score with 18 seconds remaining in the second period to tie it at 2-2.

In the third, Alvinston would retake the lead to start the third, but John McKillop would add the Blades third goal of the night to send the game into overtime.

And in overtime, Innes would score his second of the night, giving the Flyers only a single point in the effort.

Alvinston is back in action Saturday at home to the Wallaceburg Lakers.
