- The final game of the SMAA football championship
Saturday was in the Bantam g roup,
and with the top two teams playing, the game
remained close to the very end.
Bantam
Final - Tiger Sharks vs Toros
The Bantam
final would open quickly with a score, as Kobe Cox
would break for an 11 yard touchdown run to put the
Tiger Sharks up 6-0 after a block extra point. Cox
would look to get his team into scoring position
again with a 40 yard run, but the Toros would force
them to turn the ball over on downs, but the Tiger
Sharks would still lead 6-0 after the first quarter.
In the
second quarter, Brandon Shanks would break for a 9
yard run, followed by Keyshaun Jordan for an 81 yard
run before being brought down to set up the Tiger
Sharks again for another score. But a fumble would
be picked up by the Toros on their own 10 yard line,
again stopping the drive.

Jamie
Campbell would take over for the Toros with a 50
yard run, setting up two more quarterback keepers,
as Campbell would bust into the endzone, capping off
a 75 yard drive to take the lead 8-6 heading into
half time after a successful two point conversion.
In the
second half, the Tiger Sharks would again start the
scoring, as Shanks would run a fake handoff, and
keep it, running 50 yards for a touchdown to give
the Tiger Sharks back the lead 12-8.
The game
would come down to the fourth quarter, and with more
trick plays, the Tiger Sharks would run a reverse,
and Nicholas Day would break for a 40 yard touchdown
run, putting the Tiger Sharks up by two scores 18-8.
The Toros
would not be able to get the offence going to get
any closer, and the Tiger Sharks would force them
out, and Shanks would break for a 45 yard run to
blow the remaining time on the clock, as the Tiger
Sharks win the Bantam Championship with a 18-8
victory.
