andrew brethauer November 22th, 2010

Pat Brennan earned his second shutout in a row and Corey Pawley scored a hat trick to help the Cyclones earn their second win of the season, as they defeat the SCITS Blue Bombers 6-0 Monday afternoon at Sarnia Arena.

Pawley would open the scoring for the Cyclones as he streaked down the right side, and snapped a wrist shot to the far left post to put the Cyclones up 1-0. The Bombers would turn the puck over in their own end, but Jordan Mitchell would keep the game close, making in close saves for the Bombers. But St. Chris would find a crack in the defence, as a pass from Keegan Brandon at the point to a wide open Joe DeSena beside the net would put the Cyclones up 2-0. Pawley would get his second of the period, using his speed and hands to get through the defence and put another wrist shot past Mitchell's glove to give the Cyclones a 3-0 lead after the first.

Pawley would add his hat trick in the second after he dropped a pass off inside the blue line, but got it back beside the net and back handed it past Mitchell for his third of the game. Mitchell would keep things as close as he could make multiple saves in close to keep the lead only at four heading into the third.

St. Chris would keep the pressure in the third, as Ben Morrison would come down on a two on one and slide pass to Spencer Bronzi for another Cyclone goal. SCITS would get shots in on Brennan but they were from long distances and Brennan was able to see them clearly to make the saves. The Cyclones would add one more as Nic Amodeo would get a rebound goal to make it a 6-0 final.

Ben Morrison added four assists in the game, while the Cyclones open up their season 2-0. There next game is December 1st against St. Clair.

For the Blue Bombers, this was their first game of the season as their first game against St. Patrick's was cancelled. Their next match up is Monday November 29th against LCCVI at the Sarnia Arena.
