Alvinston quick first period puts them passed Comets

Alvinston's big first period helped propel them passed Kingsville in Great Lakes Junior C hockey action Friday night.

The Flyers opened the scoring early with a goal by Connor Thompson. Two minutes later, Chris Edwards would add his fifteenth of the year to put the Flyers up two nothing. Kyle Brothers would add his third and fourth goal of the year, as he put two passed the Kingsville goalie to put the Flyers up 4-1.

The Flyer's continued early in the second as Dan Warner scored his fifteenth of the year eleven seconds into the period. Kingsville would score two on Brandon Campbell, to cut the lead to 5-3, as Bryce Doan scored a power play goal, and Dylan Deslippe put one in late in the period.

Alvinston would restore their lead, as Tyler Drope would get his first of the year. Brock Pinnell would add is fourth of the year only twenty-eight seconds later to put the Flyers up 7-3. A late goal by Tyler Kirby would make it 7-4, but that was as close as the Comets would get.

Campbell would make 29 saves on 33 shots in his eighth win of the season. Warner had two assists for a three point night, while Edwards add two assists for a three point night himself.

Alvinston next plays Mooretown on Sunday, November 21st. Both teams are currently tied for second in the North Division.
