Jr. Sting Peewee's win 4-1 on the road
SARNIASPORTS.COM  November 19th, 2010

Lambton went on the road Tuesday night and had to battle rainy weather to get to the home of Wayne Gretzky to battle the 99ers from Brantford.

The Jr. Sting were aggressive early getting a penalty, but it was Lambton who struck first, not only killing off the penalty but also getting a shorthanded marker. It was the adaptable Nash Nienhuis who was playing forward and buried a wrister from the slot on the penalty kill after receiving a nice pass from Nick DiScanno. Lambton carried the play for the most part in the first but goalie Williams was forced to make a couple of big breakaway saves to keep the Jr. Sting in the lead after period one.

The Minor Peewee’s poured it on in the second period with Max Steeves poking one in from close range after Daniel Wellington did a great job keeping the puck in at the point and firing it on the net for Steeves to bury. Josh Barraclough scored on a nice wraparound for the third Jr. Sting goal of the night after some good fore-checking by his line mates DiScanno and Jared Pageau. Pageau rounded out the scoring for Lambton banging home one from close range to make it 4-0 after two periods.

Penalties were the theme for the third as the referees took over and kept Lambton from generating many scoring chances. The Jr. Sting did a great job killing off all the penalties including a 5 on 3 mid-way through the period and Williams looked to be on his way to a shutout but the bid was thwarted with 52 seconds to go in the game when Brantford scored from close range. The game ended with Lambton coming home with a 4-1 victory. The Jr. Sting played a strong game and it was a great bounce back effort.

 Nick DiScanno had three assists.

Jared Pageau had a goal and an assist.

Nash Nienhuis, Josh Barraclough and Max Steeves each had a goal and Steeves played one of his best games of the season.

Daniel Wellington had an assist.

Ethan Williams was very sharp and got the win in net.
