Lambton Sting lose to visiting Lakers
SARNIASPORTS.COM  November 15th, 2010

Lambton hosted the Lakers from Huron Perth on Sunday morning hoping to continue their good play from the previous weekend and get a little payback from the trip up to Goderich earlier in the year.

The Jr. Sting came out strong early and looked to be ready to play but it was Huron Perth who opened the scoring as the Lakers player cut across the high slot and wristed one home. HPL added to the lead as a Laker pushed one home from close range and they completed the first period scoring when a Huron Perth player ripped home a slapper to make it 3-0.

Lambton was on their heels for last eight minutes of the first and was not able to generate much in the way of offence. HPL added one from close early in the second to make it 4-0, and got another late on a long drive from the point on the power play to make it 5-0 at the end of the second period.

Lambton played even with the Lakers in the third and Garrett Miller broke the shutout, scoring on a short breakaway, getting sent in alone after a nice pass from Ryan Brown. The game ended 5-1 in favour of the visiting Lakers.

The Jr. Sting will get right back at it with practice on Monday and travel to Brantford on Tuesday night to play the 99ers.

Garrett Miller had a goal, Ryan Brown the assist.

Ethan Williams and Ethan Hunt shared the goaltending duty.
