named Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the week

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today
announced that JP Anderson of the Mississauga St.
Michael’s Majors is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the
Week for the week ending November 7. Anderson won
three games including a shutout victory posting a
goals-against-average of 0.67 and save percentage of
.973.
Anderson had his best game of the week on Thursday
night when he recorded his league-best third shutout
of the season turning aside all 34 shots as first
star of a 3-0 win over the Niagara IceDogs. He also
made 18 saves on Friday night in a 3-1 win over the
Brampton Battalion, along with a 21 save performance
to open the week on Tuesday in a 4-1 win over the
Oshawa Generals.
Anderson, an 18-year-old from Toronto, ON, is
playing in his third OHL season with the Majors. He
currently carries the OHL’s best
goals-against-average with a mark of 2.01 and has
the second highest save percentage at .926. Anderson
will compete in the 2010 SUBWAY® Super Series on
Monday November 15 with Team OHL in Sudbury, ON.
Also considered for the award this week was
Guillaume Nadeau of the Drummondville Voltigeurs who
posted a 2-0-1-0 record with a shutout victory and a
1.31 goals-against-average and .931 save percentage.
In the WHL, Calvin Pickard of the Seattle
Thunderbirds had a 1-1-0-1 record making 126 saves
with a goals-against-average of 1.63 and save
percentage of .962.
